Introduction of Amy Beth Taublieb, PhD, author of “A to Z Handbook of Child and Adolescent Issues” by Robert Stall, MD, November 11, 2000:

Welcome!  I am Dr. Rob Stall, President of the Maimonides Medical Society, a fraternity of Jewish physicians throughout Western New York.  I would like to thank the Maimonides members, Marlene Schillinger, Executive Director of Jewish Family Services, and Leon Komm of the Amherst Memorial Chapel for their help and generosity in sponsoring this event, as well as the Book Fair staff who have once again gone far beyond the call of duty to put together this and the other Book Fair events for the benefit, education, and enjoyment of the entire community.

Tonight we have Dr. Amy Beth Taublieb as our welcome guest.  Dr. Taublieb is a native Buffalonian, an accomplished author and columnist, a respected and competent practicing psychologist, a wonderful teacher both in her field and for the Tikvah Hebrew School at Temple Beth El, and, most of all, a sincere and caring person who has dedicated her life to helping others.  My wife and I were lucky enough to get to know her better as we explored the Tucson, Arizona area with Amy Beth and her mother while attending the Bar Mitzvah of Rabbi Bob Eisen’s son, Alex, there.

She will speak tonight about her newly published book “A to Z Handbook of Child and Adolescent Issues”.  The book covers topics from “alcoholism” to “Zoloft”, from “adolescent depression” to “tomboyism”.  Without further ado, let’s give a hearty welcome to Dr. Amy Beth Taublieb.
